What are the two general time periods involved in transportation of persons who are in custody?
Immediately after a rest when the prisoner is taken to the detention facility for processing or sheriff’s office headquarters for interviews or further investigation
The movement of prisoners from the detention facility to other locations for various reasons
One member shall handcuff all prisoners or detained with their hands behind their back and palms facing outward with the following exceptions.

A female prisoner shall not be handcuffed to a male prisoner, except in an emergency, and in such case shall remain under constant direct supervision at all times
A juvenile shall not be handcuffed to an adult, except in an emergency in such cases the prisoner shall remain under constant direct supervision at all times
When may a male and female prisoner, be transported to the jail in the same vehicle?
When the male and female prisoners have been arrested as participants in the same offense
Can a prisoner be transported while restrained in a prone position on their stomach?
Due to the rare possibility of positional asphyxia sworn members are prohibited from transporting prisoners who are restrained in a prone position on their stomachs
When may a juvenile and an adult be transported in the same vehicle to jail?
When the juvenile and adult are alleged to have both been involved in the same offense together, and there’s no indication that one may be a threat to the other
What medications may be brought into the jail with a prison prisoner?
Only medication’s contained in an issued prescribed container to include both the name of the arrested, subject and prescribing doctor will accompany the arrested subject to the jail any additional medication‘s found loose or otherwise, not properly labeled will be submitted to the evidence unit for destruction and accordance with established procedures.
