Which complaints should be investigated by an employee’s immediate supervisor?

Answer 1

Rudeness

Use of obscene or profane language

Refusal to properly identify oneself

Personal appearance

Improper operation of a vehicle

Failure to take reports when necessary

Failure to take appropriate action when necessary

Improper investigative procedures

All other complaints that are outside the internal affairs units area of responsibility

Any investigation assigned by the sheriff or chief deputy

What statement must be included in any Axon standards complaint report?

Answer 2

“I, the undersigned, do hereby, swear, under penalty of perjury, that, to the best of my personal knowledge, information, and belief, I have not knowingly or willfully deprived, or allowed another to deprive, the subject of the investigation of any of the rights contained in FS112.532 and 112.533. I, the underside, do also hereby, swear, under penalty of perjury, that, to the best of my knowledge and believe, the contents of this investigative report are true and accurate. “

Allegations of misconduct that have sustained may result in termination or demotion of the accused employee

Compromise of sensitive information related to any administrative or criminal investigation being conducted by the Martin County sheriffs office, or jointly with any other law-enforcement/criminal justice agency

A matter which requires confidential investigation

The investigation is considered too time-consuming, and would be impractical for the accused individuals division commander to undertake

Members from more than one division are involved

Any investigation assigned by the sheriff for chief deputy
