Produces testosterone
What is the function of FSH?

What is the function of ABP?
Maintains high testosterone in the testes and epididymis
What temperature should the testes be for optimum sperm?
3/4 degrees cooler than the body for optimum sperm
Why should you perform breeding soundness exams in bulls and rams?
- Identifies subfertile males
- Promotes genetic progression
- Avoids economic loss
What is the fertility target for a bull?
A normal fertile bull is expected to impregnate 90% of 50 normal, cycling, disease free females within 9 weeks, and impregnate 60 percent of these in the first 3 weeks of breeding season.
When should you perform a breeding soundness exam on a bull?
At least 4 weeks before the breeding period
aim for a couple of months
