Water Power Calculator Flashcards
TRA00282
How many lobes are in ATR and how many fuel elements in each?
There are five lobes in ATR (NW, NE, C, SW, SE). Each lobe contains eight fuel elements.
How many fuel elements per baffled-separated quadrant?
The flow distribution is divided into four quadrants including 10 fuel elements per quadrant.
What is the purpose of the Water Power Calculator?
ATR lobe powers are determined by data from WPC and N-16. Output of these two systems is reduced by RDAS yielding lobe powers. The WPC is effectively the calibration standard for the lobe power indication.
Is WPC safety-related?
Lobe power indication is safety related since the safety analysis uses lobe power.
What specific powers are calculated by WPC?
Total Thermal Power
Quadrant Thermal Powers (4)
How many channels does WPC have?
Two Channels:
WPC-1
WPC-2
What is the purpose of the WPC Selector Switch?
SS HS-1-1 selects which data is displayed on RCR recorders.
What are the power supplies for WPCs?
WPC-1 from 670-IP1 (Inst. Panel Ch.1)
WPC-2 from 670-IP2 (Inst. Panel Ch.2)
What are the input signals to the WPC?
10 Input signals in total to WPC:
Reactor Inlet Temp (Average of 4 instruments) - 1 input
Quadrant Outlet Temps - 4 inputs
Reactor Outlet Temp - 1 input
Quadrant Outlet Flows - 4 inputs
What is the calculation for WPC?
Where do calculated WPC signals go?
RDAS
Describe constrained/unconstrained function of the RDAS power calculation.
LPCIS calculates constrained and unconstrained lobe powers at all power levels.
At 3 N_L, CDS switches display from unconstrained to constrained.
1. Unconstrained (<3N_L) - Lobe powers are primarily determined from N-16 system.
2. Constrained (>3N_L) - Lobe powers are primarily determined from the WPC system.
The change is automatic.
Where is the WPC Process Recorder located?
WPC Process Recorder is located in the ATR first basement in the WPC Cabinet near the eastern stairwell.
What parameters are displayed on the WPC Total Recorder?
Combined outlet flow.
Reactor DT
Reactor Outlet Temp
Total Primary Water Power
Average Inlet Temp.
What is the Correction Factor for WPC compensating for?
The correction factor compensates for changes in density due to temperature.
