Surveillance and Testing System SATS Flashcards
TRA00275
What system components does SATS provide diagnostics for?
PPS Comparators
Contact-to-Logic level Converter Modules
2/3 Logic Modules
Div Logic Modules
Reactor Mode Selector Switch
Rod Clutch Coil Controller (RCCC) Logic Circuits
Is SATS safety-related?
No. SATs auto function can instead be done manually if malfunctioning.
Where is SATS powered from?
Commercial Power E390. (1st basement)
Draw the SATS interface.
What is the impact of SATS testing on PPS?
SATS testing does not inhibit PPS to respond to an event, nor does it contribute to reactor shutdown.
Where are the SATS interface units located?
The 4 SATS interface units are located in each PPS room.
What types of signal comm paths are used by SATS?
Type A - apply and remove PPS test voltages
Type B - data transfer path from PPS to SATS
Type C - request a computer interrupt
What components separate SATS inputs/outputs from PPS?
Buffer Amplifiers
How often must functional channel testing be performed on PPS?
Every 48 hours
How does EFIS vessel level inoperability impact SATS?
Tripping vessel level system (EFIS/PPS vessel level) render SATS unable to meet TSR requirements.
Why is isolation required from PPS during SATS computer system startup?
Spurious signals generated during computer power-up can cause an inadvertent reactor scram.
What is the SATS room temperature limit?
85F
What date sensitivity impacts SATS?
Y2K sensitive (unsure if this is still the case after upgrade)
What is the PPS signal latch response time?
27 msec (SATS is faster than this, which is why it does not cause a trip)
What are the two modes of SATS TESTA program?
AUTO - automatically tests PPS system by executing the complete SATS test series.
SINGLE - executes a specified test number.
