Q

What is Frontier airlines automation policy?

A

3.01 pg. 4 - Frontier Airlines expects flight crews to use the highest level of automation appropriate to the situation. This does not prohibit or limit a pilot from hand flying or decreasing the level of automation if the captain determines it’s safe to do so. The decision to use manual flight must be agreed upon by both pilots.

20
Q

What are you looking for when looking at the RNAV RNP and CAT status indicator?

A

3.07 pg. 1 - That it’s both present and in agreement with the release

21
Q

What should you do if you find a circuit breaker that is out and not collared?

A

3.07 pg. 1 - Contact MCC

22
Q

What do you need to look for when check the diversion kit?

A

3.07 pg. 2 - You just need to check that it’s onboard. The tech publications people are responsible for making sure it’s correctly stocked.

23
Q

-Life vests are stowed and present (check for a total of 4)
-Crash axe stowed (just 1)
-Protective breathing equipment (PBE) stowed and serviceable (1)

Installed
-Fire extinguisher (1)
-Pressure in the green, lock wire installed
-Oxygen mask stowed (4)
-Also check the mics and smoke goggles

A

3.07 pg. 2 - No. That’s the responsibility of MCC.

25
Q

What do you need to check for when checking the gear pins and covers?

A

3.07 pg. 2 - Verify that one nose wheel pin and two main gear pins are present. If any are missing, verify that they are not installed on the aircraft, and contact MCC through the responsible dispatcher to have them replaced

26
Q

What are we checking for on the weather radar in the preflight?

A

3.07 pg. 2 - That it’s OFF. This is done differently depending on the radar installed.

-If A/C 216-232
-RADAR sw……………………………………………OFF
-WINDSHEAR/PWS sw…………………………..OFF
-GAIN knob…………………………………………..AUTO/CAL
-For all other A/C
-WXR/PWS sw……………………………………….OFF
-CAPT DISPLAY mode selector………………OFF
-F/O DISPLAY mode selector…………………OFF
-GAIN knob…………………………………………..AUTO
-TURB sw………………………………………………AUTO

27
Q

If you come to a new A/C and it already has AC power do you need to check the battery voltage?

A

3.07 pg. 3 - No

28
Q

What should you do if the batteries are below 25.5V?

A

3.07 pg. 3 - connect the external ground power, and then turn the batteries to auto. It should take roughly 20 minutes to charge the batteries. The voltage can’t be checked with the batteries in auto so you’ll need to turn the batteries back off in order to check their voltage, before turning them back to auto.

29
Q

What do you need to do before turning on the APU?

A

3.07 pg. 3 - Check that the APU Fire push button is in and guarded, that the agent light is off, and then do the APU fire test.

30
Q

What can happen if you hold down the APU fire test button for too long?

A

3.07 pg. 3 - If you press the button for longer than 3 seconds, it may cause an auto shutdown of the APU and discharge the APU fire extinguisher.

31
Q

Will the APU start if the batteries are not in AUTO mode?

A

3.07 pg. 3 - No. Nothing will happen and the you’ll get an ECAM saying APU auto shutdown.

32
Q

How long after blocking in do you need to wait before selecting the ADIRS to OFF?

A

3.07 pg. 4 - You need to wait atleast 5 minutes to ensure that the FMGC and AOC has entered the preflight phase

36
Q

What should you do if the accumulator pressure is not in the green band when doing your preflight check?

A

3.07 pg. 4 - You can charge the accumulator using the yellow electric pump. To do this you need to make sure that the aircraft is clear of all ground personnel.

Q

If checking the speed brake lever in your preflight, what are you checking for?

A

3.07 pg. 5 - That the speed brakes are retracted and disarmed
