- forward tilted position between vagina + rectum
- connects uterine tubes + vagina

- contracts during labor

- measurement provides growth rates & crude indication of abnormality (breech, twins, etc)

- where ovum –> embryo –> fetus –> full gestation

- connects uterus to vagina via small opening
- changes in size and texture

swells, softens, + secretes mucus to provide better access/viability for sperm

- cervix stays firm + closed
