awareness: being aware, listening, and looking deep into world around you, which can lead to appreciation of world around you
dullness: too preoccupied with daily problems to imagine Gods presence
what is the cure for sacramental dullness
look deeper: realizing God made everything out of love will change your perspective and appreciation for life.
what is a ritual
series of actions or behaviors done in a specific order and often have a symbolic meaning
what are the four traits of a ritual. explain them
-needs our bodies: memory is rooted in the body ~ baptism
-forms a community: rituals of life like marriage are essential for building a human community and are not solely for an individual
-accompanied by words: words help give meaning and effectiveness ex. marriage~ “i do” seals promise
