What is a covenant?
the relationship between God and the chosen people. God agrees to love us in return you must be committed to God
What happened at Passover?
The central celebration of the Chosen People was the Passover. It was celebrated on the Sabbath after the spring full moon. It commemorated God’s liberation of the people from bondage in Egypt. The celebration was centred on a meal – the people ate lamb and unleavened bread and different herbs to remember the night when the LORD freed them. The main holidays of the Israelites were days on which they remembered what the LORD had done for them.

John- Emphasizes the humanity and divinity of Jesus
What are symbols and why are they used in rituals?
Symbols are objects, gestures, words, or images that carry a deeper meaning and represent something. In rituals, symbols are used to enhances ones understanding and connection to something you can not see
What is transcendence?
Religious experience has to do
with our relationship with a God whom we cannot see, hear, taste, smell, touch. That is, God is beyond, or transcends, our usual physical experience. That is why God reveals God’s-self to us in a physical way by entering human history as a man, Jesus. God makes God’s-self known to us through creation, but we must learn to “see” through creation to God, who is the source of all.
