To overcome or fix a problem.
What is the Army JROTC model for improvement?
- Plan: review the mission/plan activities that can support and improve the program
- Do/Act: decide, plan, and act on your potential solutions
- Evaluate: determine if you accomplished your goals by looking at your activity/outcomes
What is the difference between incremental improvement and breakthrough improvement?
Incremental improvement is making progress while breakthrough improvement is making large gains.
List the several topics that you could look into that help with communication/team-building.
- Decision making and goal setting
- Elements of leadership
- Communication skills
- Team building skills
- The planning process
What are the 4 steps required for the Plan part of the cycle?
- Identify the problem: choose significant issue that when solved can most improve your battalion.
- Gather information: gather what you can about your problem, like causes, effects, and resources required.
- Develop solutions: collaborate to brainstorm solutions to solve the problem.
- Analyze and compare options: list pros/cons and then choose the one that will work the best.
What are the 3 steps required for the Do/Act part of the cycle?
- Decide: make decisions that will get good results.
- Plan (Develop the MOI and Briefing): communicate and brief the members of your team on what will be done; make presentations for JPA.
- Implement the plan: put plan in action, execute, and then record/accomplish the mission (IPR or in progress reviews to review accomplishments and further plans).
What does assessing results require?
You to look at your goals and determine if your activity was successful for the program. You can also use AARs.
What should the AAR include?
- Issue (what happened)
- Discussion (why did it happen)
- Recommendation (how can we do this better)
What should your JPA presentation by staff include?
- Overview of purpose of CIP
- Introduction of all Cadet Staff and their project roles
- Details of problem, improvement plan, implementation, evaluation, and reflection
- Conclusion with a plan for next steps in continuous improvement
