Command Voice
A properly given command said in a tone that is understood by everyone.
Procedure
A series of steps followed in a regular, definite order.
Preparation
The act or process of making something ready for use or service.
Command of Execution
A part of a drill command that tells when the movement is to be carried out.
What are the basic values of a follower?
- Loyalty to your unit
- Personal responsibility
- Selfless service
What are your responsibilities of a leader?
- Setting a good example
- Knowing your job
- Being concerned about the welfare of your followers
Why do you teach drill at the center/front of your team?
- Explain and demonstrate each movement yourself and then let your team execute them.
- Observe members carefully to ensure everybody executes movements correctly.
- Make on-the-spot corrections as necessary and be prepared to give individual corrections when needed.
What are the two parts of a drill command? What is a command used for?
- The preparatory command (Forward) and the command of execution (MARCH)
- It is an oral order of a commander.
What are four factors that a leader needs to consider when preparing for drill?
- Their own proficiency at drill
- Training and experience of the Cadets they will be teaching
- Special needs of Cadets (illness, out of shape)
- Resources required (drill space, time allotted)
What are leadership attributes and fundamentals that you need to keep in mind when considering your own skill?
- Consistency
- Sincerity: show respect and care about the well-being of your subordinates
- Patience and spirit
- Military bearing and neatness
- Providing an example for followers
- Providing feedback when mistakes are noted
- Fairness and good judgment when applying discipline
