A
- Wash hands/use gloves.
- Stop the bleeding.
- Clean the cut with hydrogen peroxide.

- Apply bandage.
- Change the bandage when necessary.
- Watch for redness, pain, etc.

What is the RICE method for sprains?
A
- Rest (rest for 24-48 hours)
- Ice (ice it for no more than 20 min at a time)
- Compression (wrap it)
- Elevation (raise above heart to reduce swelling)

What are tick bites and how can you prevent them?
A
They are in wooden areas, and to prevent them avoid bushes, walk on trail, and check clothes and other items.

A
- Use tweezers to grasp tick as close to skin as you can.
- Pull upward with steady, even pressure.
- Clean the bite area.
- Dispose of tick with alcohol, tape, or flushing it.

- Lyme Disease: 3-30 days after bite (fever, chills, rash)
- Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever: 2-14 days after bite (fever, rash, red eyes)

How should you help someone who fainted?
A
- Leave the victim lying down, check the airway, and if they are breathing, raise legs above head.
- Loosen tight clothing and maybe use a cool water sponge.
- If they do not regain consciousness in 1-2 minutes, call for help.
