Turbine Lube Oil (TML) Flashcards
What is the purpose of the Motor Suction Pump?
The Motor Suction Pump supplies positive pressure to the suction side of the Main Shaft Oil
Pump when the turbine is at less than 90 percent rated speed
What is the Power Supply for the Turning Gear Oil Pump (TGOP)
MCC009C (US6)
When does the Turning Gear Oil Pump (TGOP) auto start?
- Main Shaft Oil Pump discharge pressure <190psig
OR - Bearing Oil Pressure <15 psig
When does the Emergency Bearing Oil Pump (EBOP) auto start?
- Main Shaft Oil Pump discharge pressure <180psig
AND - TGOP discharge pressure <10psig.
When does the Motor Suction Oil Pump (MSOP) auto start?
- Main Shaft Oil Pump suction pressure <10psig.
When does the Bearing Lift Pump auto start?
- TGOP >10psig.
AND - Lift Pump suction pressure is >1psig.
When does the Bearing Lift Pump stop?
Lift Pump suction pressure is <1psig.
What may need to happen to Lift Pumps during Turbine Shell warming and why?
Lift pumps may be required to be turned off to keep the Turbine on the Turning Gear.
What is the purpose for a pipe in a pipe?
reduces potential for a fire.
What happens to the Turning Gear if all Lift Pumps trip?
Turning Gear disengages.
What is the Power Supply to the Emergency Bearing Oil Pump?
2BYS-SWG001A (Batt A)
What is the Power Supply to the Motor Suction Pump and the Bearing Lift Pumps?
MCC008C (US5)
What cools the Lube Oil in the Lube Oil Coolers?
CCS (2100GPM CCS in each cooler)
What is the purpose of the Booster Oil Pump?
Provides suction pressure to the Main Shaft Oil Pump during Normal Ops.
What is the purpose of the Bearing Lift Pump?
Supply oil at high pressure (800-4500psig) to the underside of the
Turbine Generator bearings #3 through #10. This lifts the Turbine and Generator Shafts from
2 to 5 mils, which reduces the required torque to turn the Turbine Shaft.
