Condensate Storage and Transfer (CNS) Flashcards
What is the purpose of the Condensate Storage and Transfer system?
- Stores and distributes condensate quality water to the plant
- Reserves of 135,000 gal in ea. tank for RCIC (A CST) and HPCS (B CST)
What is the power supply for Condensate Transfer Pump 1A?
US9 Bus A
What is the power supply for Condensate Transfer Pump 1B?
US9 Bus B
What supplies control power for condensate transfer pumps 1a/b?
“A” Battery
What are the Auto Starts for the Condensate Transfer Pumps?
- Low Discharge Header Pressure (<= 95psig for 5 sec)
- High Discharge Header Flow (>= 760 gpm for 5 sec)
- Trip of the running pump
What is the auto trip of the condensate transfer pumps?
CST lo-lo level (18’7” A, 18’8” B)
Motor overload
Sustained Bus Undervoltage
What happens to HW valves on a loss of IAS or loss of SCI PNL?
- Normal MUF valve (LV103) fails open
- Emergency MUF valve (AOV304) fails shut
- Spill Valve (LV105) fails shut
- M/U valve to CST (AOV123) fails shut
Why are CST levels maintained > 135,000 gallons?
For CSH and RCIC during a LOCA
What happens when condensate supply to the CRD system is cutoff?
Total condensate transfer system flow will rise by approximately 70-90 gpm. This will cause hotwell level to rise and control at approximately 22”
What is normal HW level maintained at?
9” - 15”
