Working principle (how it works)
Keeps food cool using special liquid - refrigerant
(takes heat from food + air in fridge)
Temp should be 2-5 C
What it does
Keeps perishable foods fresh - period of time
Reduces wastage (leftovers)
Limit shopping trips
Protects food from dust + flies
Reduce risk - food poisoning
Store frozen foods in icebox + fridge-freezers
Can freeze fresh food
Care + maintenance
- Defrost regularly - build-up ice in icebox - affect efficiency
- Inside - cleaned w/ solution of 1 tbsp breadsoda to 1/2 litre warm water. Rinse + dry. Detergents may affect food flavour.
- Wash + dry + polish outside
How to use it
Placed away - cooker/other heat sources (extra pressure on motor)
Cover food - prevent drying out
Wrap stong-smelling - avoid passing flavours
Never ref. apples, bananas, root veg.
Never put hot food - raise temp
Do not pack shelves - prevents cold air circulation
Do not open unnecessarily
Store food - most suitable position. Nearest ice box - coldest, door a least cold
Not in use - unplug + leave door open - air circulate
