To change the shape of the tongue
What supplies the intrinsic muscles of the tongue?
Hypoglossal nerve
What is the function of the extrinsic muscles of the tongue?
Change the position of the tongue in the mouth
How do the extrinsic muscles orientate themselves?
Outside the tongue and insert into the tongue
What innervates the extrinsic muscles of the tongue?
Hypoglassal nerve expect palatoglossus = vagus nerve in pharyngeal plexus
What is the lingual artery?
The 2nd anterior branch of the external carotid artery
