What are the two groups of superficial inguinal lymph nodes?
Horizontal and Vertical
Where does lymph drain in the vertical group?
Superficial lower limb
Where does lymph drain in the horizontal group?
Medial nodes drain anterior abdominal wall and lower half of anal canal and lateral nodes drain posterior abdominal wall

Why is the fascia latae thickened laterally?
To form the iliotibial tract
Where does the deep fascia of the lower limb attach to?
Iliac tubercle to the anterolateral tibial tubercle
What is the function of the fasciae latae?
Helps support the femur on the tibia when standing
What are the two different fascia of the lower limb?
Fascia Latae and Crural fascia
What is the femoral triangle?
Triangular shape on anterior upper thigh
What forms the roof of the femoral triangle?
Fascia Latae, Cribriform fascia, subcutaneous tissue and skin
What makes up and passes through the Saphenous Hiatus?
Cribriform fascia, great saphenous van which drains into femoral vein
What are the boundaries of the femoral triangle?
Base - Inguinal ligament
Laterally - Sartorius
Medially - Adductor Longus
What makes up the floor of the femoral triangle?
Ilipsoas and Pectineus
What are the contents of the femoral triangle from lateral to medial?
Femoral nerve, femoral artery and femoral vein
What is contained in the femoral sheath?
Transversalis and iliopsoas fascia, adventitia of femoral vessels
What is the potential space medially within femoral sheath?
Femoral canal
What is contained in the femoral canal?
Fat and lymphatics
