the written equivalent of the passé composé
can be used to convey sense of drama, or conveying events, in writing
how do you form the passé simplé or -er verbs? (regular)
infinitive stem + Je \_\_\_\_ai tu \_\_\_\_as il/elle/on \_\_\_\_a nous \_\_\_âmes vous \_\_\_\_âtes ils/elles \_\_\_\_ èrent
what are the two irregularities for -er verbs?
for verbs ending in -cer: use ça/çai/ça etc
fro verbs using in -ger: add an e - ___eai, ___eas etc
