S.1 Terrorism Act 2000
In this Act “terrorism” means the use or threat of “action” where-
Serious violence
Serious damage
Endangers
Serious risk (to health or safety)
Serious electronic
is involved to influence or intimidate the public/government for political, racial, religious or ideological purpose.
Terrorist - S.40(1) Terrorism Act 2000
A terrorist means a person who:
a) has committed an offence under any of sections 11,12,15 to 18 and 56, 57, 58, 58a, to 63 or
b) is or has been concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
S.43 and S.43A Terrorism Act 2000
-Allows for stop search of both individuals and vehicles.
-Provides power to search person post-arrest.
S.47A TACT 2000
Searches in specified areas/places without grounds authorized by superintendent.
Basically S.60 of PACE.
