미국 중북부 지역은 영하 48도로 남극보다 더 추운 날씨인데, 호주는 섭씨 46도를 넘는 사상 최악의 폭염이 계속되고 있습니다.
As for the central and northern regions of the United States, it is colder than Antarctica with temperatures of minus 48 degrees (Fahrenheit), but as for Australia, the worst heatwave in history is continuing, exceeding 46 degrees Celsius.

미국 중북부에 강한 한파가 불어 오대호 주변 지역은 영하 25도까지 떨어지고 강물이 꽁꽁 얼었습니다.
A strong cold wave is sweeping through the central and northern parts of the United States, so as for the area around Lake Superior, (the temperature) dropped to minus 25 degrees (Celsius), and the rivers froze solid.
미네소타 주 일부 지역은 최저 기온이 남극보다 낮은 영하 48.3도까지 내려갔습니다.
In some parts of Minnesota, the lowest temperature dropped to minus 48.3 degrees (Celsius), which is lower than Antarctica.
이번 한파로 최소 5명이 사망하고, 학교 수백 곳이 휴교하고, 항공기 수천 편이 결항됐습니다.
With this cold wave, at least five died, hundreds of schools closed, and thousands of flights canceled.
호주는 더위가 계속되고 있습니다.
As for Australia, the heat is on going.
섭씨 46도를 넘는 폭염 때문에 산불이 발생하고, 물고기 수십만 마리가 죽었습니다.
Due to the heatwave exceeding 46 degrees Celsius, wildfires have broken out, and tens of thousands of fish have died.
전문가들은 지구온난화를 그 원인으로 보고 있습니다.
