Q

What is the method of action of sulphonylureas?

A
  • Stimulates pancreatic insulin secretion
  • Block ATP dependent K+ channels in pancreatic beta cell membranes
  • = depolarisation of the cell membrane and opening of voltage gated Ca2+ channels
