Steeple chase Week 5 Flashcards
Where is the white and grey matter found on the cerebrum
grey matter (neuronal cell bodies) is found superficially
white matter (axons/ axonal tracts) is found centrally
What does the suprascapular nerve innervate?
The supraspinous and infraspinous muscles
What does the axillary nerve innervate?
Flexors of the shoulder joint, e.g deltoid
What does the subscapular nerve innervate?
The subscapular muscle
What does the musculocutaneous muscle innervate?
The coracobrachial muscle (biceps muscle of the forelimb)
What does the radial nerve innervate?
All extensors of the forelimb
What does the median nerve innervate?
The radial flexor muscle
What does the ulnar nerve innervate?
The ulnar flexor muscle of the carpus
Where is the sciatic nerve found?
Just caudal to the femur
What branches off from the femoral nerve?
The saphenous nerve and then further down the cutaneous branch
What is the name of the nerve that passes through the obturator foramen?
Obturator nerve
What are three things made up of grey matter in the cerebrum?
basal nuclei, the limbic system and the cerebral cortex
What separates the paired groups of nuclei in the diencephalon?
The third ventricle
What is the corpora quadrigema?
centres for vision and hearing
What is the name of the tube that connects the third and fourth ventricles?
The mesencephalic aqueduct
