What is health?
A state of complete emotional, physical and social wellbeing.
What is wellbeing?
The state of being comfortable, healthy or happy.
What is fitness?
The ability to meet the demands of an environment.
What are the effects of physical activity on health?
Physical: Better body composition, cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance.
Emotional: Makes you feel good, relieves stress, increases confidence.
Social: Increases cooperation skills, develops friendships and teamwork.
What are positive impacts of fitness on wellbeing?
Increases life expectancy, helps weight control, imprives body composition, lower risk of disease, lower resting heart rate/blood pressure.
What are negative impacts of fitness on wellbeing?
Risk of sport related injuries, competition pressure can have emotional effects, insecurities about body composition.
How do you promote good health through a PEP?
Physical - can be designed to improve any component of fitness.
Emotional - Can be made specific to a particular sport to improve in it and therefore increase confidence.
Social - Can allow you to work more and mix with others.
