Hormone
The condition in which an organism’s internal environment is kept stable in spite of changes in the external environment.
Homeostasis
A muscle that is attached to the bones of the skeleton and provides the force that moves the bones; also called striated muscle.
Skeletal Muscle
Involuntary muscle found inside many internal organs of the body.
Smooth Muscle
Involuntary muscle tissue found only in the heart.
Cardiac Muscle
A muscle that appears banded; also called skeletal muscle.
