A

Offence to alter, re arrange, or misrepresent characters in order to form names or words in a way that makes it difficult to read the reg.

A

Registered with sec of state, DVLA. A reg plate and certificate will be issued

What is ANPR?

A

Automatic number plate recognition. Can be :
Mobile ANPR(installed in patrol or unmarked cars to monitor traffic)
ANPR enabled CCTV (monitors slow moving traffic in urban areas)
Strategic fixed site ANPR (cover high flow major arterial routes)

A

When a vehicle is in the UK temporarily, and it’s reg doesn’t have Roman letters or European numerals.
Or
Where there is an unknown date of registration, e.g. Stolen vehicle
Or
Kit cars

A
Excise license (tax disc)
Can be renewed 5 days after the end of the month it expires, or on the 5th day of the month it expires

What offences exist under the vehicle excise & reg act 1994?

A

Sec 29- offence to keep or use a vehicle without a license (unless SORN)
Sec 33- offence to use or keep such a vehicle on a public road without displaying a valid license.

If it is an employee driving, the offence would be on the owner
Sec 44- offence to forge, fraudulently alter or use, fraudulently lend, or fraudulently allow to be used, any license, trade license, reg doc, or reg plate.

When is it to an offence under sec 33 (not displaying a tax disc)?

A

If it is in 14 days of the vehicle being registered.

In 14 days of going to a new keeper

Within 14 days of the expiry, as long as an
application has been received

During the time the license has been sent to DVLA with an application for a replacement

A

On the nearside of the vehicle, to be clearly read in daylight

What is a trade license?

A

A license allowing traders and testers to use any vehicles in their possession through their trade on public roads.
Only 1 vehicle at a time can be used on a single trade plate
Removes the need for a reg plate and tax disc
