Explain parental responsibility/rights
Safeguarding/promoting health, development.
Mother automatically has these rights.
Father has these rights if:
1.Married to mother during conception or after
2.He was given them by a court order
3.Made with mother & registered at court
4.Recorded as father on birth certificate if after may 2006, even if not married.
What does sec 12 children & young persons (scot) act 1937 make it an offence to do?
For any person who has responsibility, charge or care of a child/young person <16, to:

Wilfully ill treat
Neglect
Abandon
Expose in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health
Explain charge of a child
You have charge if responsibility has been delegated to you by person with parental rights (e.g. Babysitter)
Explain care of child
You have care if you have possession of the child (e.g. Policeman with lost child)
Who may be included on the PVG list?
Someone who harms a child or puts them at risk, and is consequently dismissed
What is it an offence to do with regard to PVG?
To work in a child care position
For an organisation to employ a person in a child care position if they know that person is listed
