Can't safeguard themselves, property, or rights 
Are at risk of harm

Have a disability or mental disorder

What is an assessment order?

A
Done by local authority
Allows council officer to take adult for a private interview and medical exam
Valid for 7 days
Establishes if adult is at risk
Is voluntary, can leave at any time

What is a removal order?

A
Granted by sheriff,
Allows council officer to remove adult to a specified place
Must be executed within 72 hours

A

Granted by sheriff,
