What does sec 87 of road traffic act 1988 make it an offence to do?
To drive, or to cause or permit another person to drive any class of motor vehicle on a road, otherwise in accordance with a license authorising to drive a vehicle of that class

What is a moped?
Vehicle with <4 wheels, does not exceed 30mph, does not exceed 50cc
What age do you need to be to have a provisional moped license?
16
Are mopeds allowed on motorways?
No
What defines a motorcycle?
<410kg
What are the conditions of a provisional motorcycle license?
Must be 17
Must undergo CBT
Must display L plates
No pillions
Don’t ride on motorway
Must take test within 2 years, or license will lapse for 1 year
Power limit of 125cc, power output of 11kw
What are the conditions of a full motorcycle license?
Must be 19
Size of bike is restricted for 2 years to 35kw, or a power to weight ratio of 0.2/kg
Can ride bike of any size after 2 years
What are the conditions of a provisional driving license?
Must be 17
Can be 16 if in receipt of mobility Allowance
L plates
No trailer unless by agricultural tractor
Must be supervised by 21+ with license of 3yrs +
Cannot drive on motorway
How long is a pass slip valid for?
2 years.
What does sec 164 provide?
Power for a constable to require a persons driving license when:
They are driving a motor vehicle on a road
When suspected of having committed a motoring offence
When suspected of driving a motor vehicle on a road when involved in a road accident
If supervising a provisional driver in any of the above circumstances
How long does a ho/rt1 give a person to show their license?
7 days
When is a person required to give their date of birth?
If fails to produce driving license or receipt, Or Suspect that license is invalid due to Forgery, Personaging, Fraud
What does sec 103 make to an offence to do?
What is the power of arrest?
For a person to drive, or obtain a license while disqualified.
A PC in uniform can arrest anyone they suspect of driving without a license
