- you will get the bass line and the number and key signature
- the note and number combination will give you the inversion and a chord that you will build on
- use the clues to fill in the chord
- the order of the pitches does not matter as long as it is voiced correctly
- be careful to not double the third

- you are given a bass line and the inversion numbers/accidental numbers within a key signature
- write in the harmonic structure the figured bass implies
- then add in a soprano line that fits the harmonies
- always allow part writing rules
- add the alto and tenor parts to finish the chords
- make sure all chord tones that are needed are present
