Q

invertible counterpoint

A
  • some special counterpoint lines have the ability to be inverted. The Cantus Firmus and the counterpoit lines are switched in register
  • invertible lines must be scored carefully. there cannot be any 5ths because when the lines are inverted, the 5ths will become 4ths
  • octaves are flipped (end up being the same), 3rds become 6ths
