what is special about C1 anatomy?
A
- no vertebral body
- it comprises or anterior and posterior arches united by two large lateral masses

wht is special about C2 anatomy?
A
-has an ondontoid process which projects superiorly intp C1, anterior the spinal canal where it forms a joint with the C1 anterior arch
