what treatment would patients with enteropathic arthritis be given to control pain?
A
- normal analgesics e.g. paracetamol or codamol
- NOT NSAIDs!! these may exacerbate IBD

when are the symptoms of patients with enteropathic arthritis usually worse?
A
-during IBD flare up

what investigations may be done for someone with suspected enteropathic arthritis?
A
- upper and lower GI endoscopy with biopsy showing ulceration/colitis
- Blood test: elevated PV, CRP, ESR

what treatment may be given to someone with enteropathic arthritis?
A
- Anti TNF alpha (infliximab)
- DMARDs (discuss with gastroenterologist)
- normal analgesic e.g. paracetamol, co- codamol
no NSAIDs!!- can exacerbate IBD :((

is enteropathic serum positive?
A
no!! it’s serum negative, you will not find RF in someone with enteropathic arthritis
