Radiographic faults Flashcards
what is the main radiographic problem with this radiograph
very underexposed –> increase exposure
what is the main radiographic problem with this radiograph
grossly over-exposed.
- the image of the tail could not be made any lighter with post-processing manipulation
what is the main radiographic problem with this radiograph
- damaged/dirty plates
what is the main radiographic problem with this radiograph
dirty light guide
- avoid dirt, hair etc from entering the processor
what is the main radiographic problem with this radiograph
ghosting
- erase plates daily/check processor erasure light to avoid
what is the main radiographic problem with this radiograph
border artefacts
what is the main radiographic problem with this radiograph
uberschwinger (halo around very opaque objects)
- use correct software algorith (body area) to avoid
what is the main radiographic problem with this radiograph
- very little detail can be seen of lungs because the image is poorly collimated with significant amounts of abdomen included. software setting are specific to body area, so if trying to take image of lungs and include abdomin, software gets confused
- poorly centred
- artefact of left hind limb obstructing lung
- dog not straight
- no label
what is the main radiographic problem with this radiograph
poor centering
poor collimation
incorrect exposure
no labelling
lead glove appears to be in primary beam (bottom left corner)
what are some common digital radiogrpahy artefacts
