Peripheral nervous system Anatomy Flashcards
What is the cervical plexus dervived from (what lvls)
C1-5
what are the 7 branches of the cervical plexus and what do they supply
C1- geniohyoid, thyrohyoid
Ansa cervicali (c1,2,3)- all other infra hyoid mm
Lesser occipital (c2)- back of head up to vertex
great auricular (c2) supplies ear
Transverse cerc (C2/3)- skin of ant triangle)
supraclavicular (c3/4)- skin over clavicle
Phrenic (c3,4,5)- diaphragm
what does the radial n supply
supplies are mm of the posterior compartment of arm and forearm, abductiors of thumb and supinator
What does median n supply
all mm of forearm except flexor carpi ulnas and ulnar half of flexor digiroum profundus + LOAF mm (lumbricles, opens pollicis, abductor polliculus brevis, flexor polices brevis
what does the ant interosseous branch supply
flexor pollicis longus, pronator quad, radial half of flexor dig profound
Musculocuaneous nerve inn
biceps, biracialis, coracobrachialis and skin of lat arm (BBC nerve)
Axillary nerve passes thru what and supplies what
passes thru quadrangular space and supplies felt and teres minor
What branches come from roots of brachial plexus
dorsal scap (c4,5)- lev scap, rhomboids
Long thoracic (5,6,7)- serrates ant
branches from trunks
suprascap (5,6)- supra and infraspinatus
N to subclavous (5,6)- supplies subclavius
Branches from cords (post, med, lat)
post-
upper/lower subs cap (5,6)
thoracodorsal (,6,7,8)- lats
Med- (8,1)
med pec
medial brachial cut
medial ante brachial cut
lat-
lat pectoral (5,6,7)
What does damage to the 5/6 roots cause
Erb duchane palsy- waiter tip food (elbow extended, forearm pronated, fingers flexed
Damage to c8/t1 nerve roots cause what
Klumpkes palsy- claw hand
lumbar plexus is derived from what
ventral rami of L1-4
all nerves of lumbar plexus pass lat to psoas except what
genitofemoral- ant to psoas
obtoratur- passes medially
branches of lumbar plexus
Iliohypogastric (t12/l1)
Ilioinguinal (l1)
Genitofemoral (l1/2)
Lat femoral cut (L2,3)
femoral (L2,3,4 post)
OBtoator (L2,3,4)
