a. During therapy and thinking about the traumatic experience, the patient follows the touch of the therapist on their eyelids

How can PTSD be prevented
a. Quickly giving treatment after trauma has been shown to really help prevent PTSD
Define adjustment disorders
- Anxious or depressive reactions to life stress with less severe symptoms than PTSD
- Must persist for 6 months to be considered chronic
Define attachment disorders
a. Disturbed and developmentally inappropriate behaviours in children (before age 5)
b. Unable/ unwilling to form normal attachment relationships with caregiving adults
What causes attachment disorders?
a. Inadequate/ abusive child rearing practices
What are the two types of attachment disorders
a. Reactive attachment disorder
b. Disinhibited social Engagement Disorder
