Mechanism of Action
Nitrates are prodrugs and will be dinitrated by the body into nitric acid used to inhibit protein kinases. Nitrates relax and dilate medium to large coronary arteries and veins

Headache, dizziness

Available doses and forms: 60mg
Nitro-Dur
Generic name: nitroglycerin
Available doses and forms: Transdermal patch: 0.2mg/h, 0.4mg/h,
0.6mg/h, 0.8mg/h
Sublingual: pumpspray, tablet
IV solution: ampoule, vial
Notes: patches are only to be worn during the day and removed for
10 hours at night
