Inhibit action of 5A reductase
5A reductase= enzymes that control production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT)
Increased testosterone levels are associated with excess growth of prostate tissue

May take 6-12 months of therapeutic outcomes to be seen
Harmful to developing fetus
Avoid handling with crushed or broken tablets
