Common Facts
Common name: bronchodilators
Commonly used to treat: Asthma
Common adverse reaction: palpitations, tachycardia, nervousness
Common auxiliary labels: shake well before use (for most metered-dose inhalers only)
-Do not exceed recommended dose (on all LABAs)
Mechanism of Action
Bind to Beta (B2) receptors
Relax bronchial smooth muscle
Reverse bronchospasm and open airways
Notes: longer onset of action (take longer to work than SABAs)
-longer duration of action (effect lasts longer than SABAs)
-used to help control asthma
-should be used with inhaled corticosteroids

Turbuhaler: 6mcg, 12mcg per inhalation
