Refers to the idea that social behaviour is inherited from our biological make up rather than learnt. Some people believe that certain aspects of our behaviour is determined by our genes.
What is nurture?
Refers to the idea that social behaviour is learnt through our primary socialisation and environment. The human behaviour is learnt through the process of imitation.
What is agents of socialisation?
Groups of people that teach us about society.
Socialisation is either:
Primary or secondary.
What is primary socialisation?
The first stage of the learning process wher basic norms and ways of behaving is learnt. The first primary relationship people form is within the family.
Why is primary socialisation important?
It is crucial as it shapes the way we behave according to societal standards and norms.
