Q

overall description of MSM

A

-3 stores, SS, STM, LTM
-SSS - v. large capacity, encoded by senses, less than 1 second duration

STM - acoustically encoded, 7+- 2 capacity, up to 18 seconds duration
-Info flows in linear fashion
-Input comes from environment to SS, must pay attention to pass to STM, you must do maintainance rehearsal to keep in STM and you must do elaborative rehearsal to transfer to LTM
