Q

MSK: shoulder special tests

Biceps Load II test

A
  • Labral tear (best test)
  • Examiner puts the shoulder in 120°shoulder AB and 90° elbow flexion
  • Move the patient’s shoulder to end range ER
  • Examiner should now resist elbow flexion
  • +ve test is pain reproduction

HAWKINS KENNEDY TEST is for

A

subacromial impingement

  • Examiner raises the patient’s arm to 90° flexion
  • Examiner applies forced internal rotation
  • +ve test if it reproduces pain
18
Q

MSK: shoulder special tests

NEER IMPINGEMENT TEST

A

subacromial impingement

  • Patient: seated and assess resting symptoms
  • Examiner raises the patient’s arm into flexion with one hand, while stabilizing the scapula with the other
  • +ve test if it reproduces pain
