1st meiotic division: heterotypic
A
long and diff prophase:
- pairing of homologous chromosomes
- crossing - over between homologous chromosomes
- segregation of homologous chomosomes
reduction is 2 sets into 1 set so haploid originates from diploid

2nd meiotic division: homeotypic
A
Identical to mitosis so interphase where chromosomes duplicate then meiosis one (pair homo chromosome and gene cross of chromatids - 2 daughter produced) then meiosis two (random assortment - 4 prodcuced)
