Q

Explain how the aircraft calculated BINGO, M.BINGO and JOKER?

A

BINGO = Presented when the selected NAV route cannot be completed above min fuels at the current fuel burn/GS combination
M.BINGO = When the INTERNAL fuel level if that of the manual bingo
JOKER = When the internal AND external fuel is that of the manual joker

Q

Ferry tanks can either be critical or non critical to completing a flight, explain how checks should be completed with each situation?

A

No critical = Simple flow check —> Ferry tank in auto mode
Critical = Ferry tank XFER Cx —> Single continuous XFER

16
Q

Explain the difference between feasibility, mission and check calc on the CDU:

A

Feasibility Calc:
Mission Calc:
Check Calc: Used to calc fuel for direct to/WPs seperate to the nav route

17
Q

At what point does the F.LOW caption come on?

A

When both tanks are below 450kgs

18
Q

What is the capacity of the ferry tanks?

A

292kgs

19
Q

What are the three different ways to update your loc when GPS has failed?

A

FIX = Use a known WP to re-centre the aircraft
LOS = Uses where the RMS is looking
Euro grid = Update POS via tac map cursor

20
Q

Explain what green, blue, yellow and red mean on the Eurovision elevation map?

A

Red = At/below your height
Yellow = Below DH
Green = Above DH, below DA
Blue = Above DA

21
Q

Explain how speed corrections are made during low level nav:

A

Increase/decrease speed by how early/late you are for 90 sec

E.g. 20 sec early, slow down to 100kts G/S for 90 sec

Note: If timing corrections are too significant, make half the speed correction and double the time

22
Q

HASEL Cx:

A

Height: Planned leg height, not below and DH set
Area/auth: Area is suitable and auth we have
Security: Set front/rear
Engine: ACFT Systems green
Lookout: Clear below

23
Q

At 120, 100 and 75 ground speed what can be used to calculate distance to a WP?

A

120kts = 15 sec/km = 4km/min
100kts = 20 sec/km = 3km/min
75kts = 25sec/km = 2.2km/min

24
Q

At what angle of bank does the tip path plane reach below the LDG gear and what can pilots use to remind them?

A

36ºAoB, if you have to look through the roof during a turn, the blades are below the wheels

25
Q

Which Cx must be completed before descending LL?

A

FENCE Cx

26
Q

Which Cx must be completed before descending LL?

A

FENCE Cx

27
Q

You are LL, authed NB 50AGL, is it acceptable to have the DH sound when “cresting”?

A

Not really, the auth is 50ft, not “50ft unless there’s a ridge line then pay it off” (Advice from Gene Walker*)

28
Q

When operating away from OK, what additional radio information is required?

A

POB is often missed

29
Q

Explain how the NAV —> Guidance page can be used during a TOT navigation?

A

Guidance displays the TOT to the nearest whole minute at the final WP, it is useful if wanting to arrive at a whole minute to have the number flashing between the two.

E.g. Arrival time 00:10Z, you want to see 09/10 flashing as this mean the computer puts you somewhere between 9:30sec and 10:30sec

30
Q

How can you listen to more than 3 radio freqs at a time?

A

Marker beacon can dial up 126.7
