How can aircrew stop ground crew from approaching the aircraft?
Fixed anti-col lights = do not approach
There are 4 main communication step during a hot refuel, what are they and how are they made?
Start refuelling: 1st flash/Circular open hand
200kgs to go: 2nd flash/2 fingers
100kg to go: 1 finger
Stop refuelling: 3rd flash/side to side flat hand
Can the ARH hot refuel ferry tanks?
No, pressure refuels only
Something has gone wrong with the aircraft during a hot refuel, how is this communicated to the ground crew?
Day: Comms with attendant
Night: Constant flashing anti-cols
Prior to the approach to the hot refuel point, what is required?
Ops normal call
How are the emitters switched off?
CDU —> EWS = DOP/RADALT
CDU —> COM = HF
CDU —> TAC = DL/ASSIGN/TX
Explain your actions if there is a fire at the aircraft:
- Confirm the fire if internal
- EMERG ENG Shutdown
- EMERG Egress, away from the side which is on fire

Ground crew will disconnect the fuel:
- Once disconnected, move the aircraft away from the fire
