SID:
- DH = 200 or 250ft
- DA = 10NM MSA
Circling departure:
- DH = 300ft (due circling area terrain clearance)
- DA = 10NM MSA
How fast do we fly a departure?
75KIAS
What upper modes are selected during a SID?
HDG/IAS before entering cloud
AAQ once climb PWR set
Explain your departure emergency brief, both before and after entering IMC:
“Any power loss before flyaway we will abort —> After flyaway while visual we will circle to land —> Once IMC we will conduct boldface and asses RoC —> If RoC is 250ft/min or greater we will continue the SID —> If positive RoC but unable to complete the SID we will climb to 10NM MSA and RQST vectors for the ILS —> If negative RoC maintain circling area for the FLWP”
Explain the sequence for the major admin/checks required on the ground prior to lineup?
NFP completed CDU setup —> Airways call prior to tail wheel/park brake —> AAAABCs, top up departure brief —> Taxi w/ IF Taxi checks (turn both ways) —> Air transit: Pitots alive + X checked —> PWP AO until IMC —> Lineup
