what are the five human needs
self actualisation, self esteem, social, safety, physiological.
what is self actualisation
the need for personal growth, achieving own self fulfilment by completing challenging work and using own creative talent.
what is self esteem
the need for status, reward and recognition such as promotion (external factors) self respect, autonomy and achievement (internal factors)
what is social needs
the need for affection, belonging, acceptance and friendship.
what is safety needs
the need for job security, safety and protection from physical and emotional harm (injuries or bullying)
what is physiological needs
the need for basic employment needs such as a job and adequate pay/remuneration
what is maslows hierarchy
maslows hierarchy of needs is a motivational theory that arranges human needs in a hierarchy based on the order of their importance. an employees level of needs at a specific level must be satisfied before they can move up to the next level. once a particular need is satisfied it is no longer a motivator.
