Q

Describe the course of the great saphenous vein at its proximal terminus.

Q

Describe the course of the small saphenous vein, from its origin to its proximal terminus.

A

The small saphenous vein ascends posterior to the lateral malleolus. It then ascends posteriorly, between the heads of gastrocnemius. It then traverses the deep fascia, and empties into the popliteal vein in the popliteal fossa.
