This is the lateral entrance to the inguinal canal. It is an evagination of the transversalis fascia, forming an opening into the inguinal canal, through the musculoaponeuroses of the transverse abdominal muscle and the internal oblique.
What is the relation of the deep inguinal ring to the inferior epigastric artery?
It is lateral to the inferior epigastric artery.
What is the superficial inguinal ring?
This is the medial terminus of the inguinal canal. It is formed by the splitting of the fibres of the external oblique aponeurosis.
Where is the superficial inguinal ring?
Just superolateral to the pubic tubercle.
