lab 3 Flashcards
Three domains of Organisms
Bacteria, Archaea, and Eukarya
Organelles
little organs inside cell
Domain Eukarya
Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and animalia
Kingdom Protista
Animal like protozoans, plant like protists, and fungus like protists.
all have characteristics of being free living single celled eukaryotes
Taxonomy
Classification of organisms
Kingdom Fungi Characterized by
eukaryotic, multicellualr, thread like, or yeast like.
Plants are characterized by
eukaryotic, multicellular, and able to produce their for through the process.
Animal characterized as
eukaryotic, multicellular and requires food from outside source
Prokaryotes lack
internal organelles
unicellular
single celled individuals
Archaea
mostly anaerobes, live in extreme habitats, such as high heat ares and high salt concentration, though to be old
Bacteria
process dead organisms and are really really small
Bacilli
rod shapped
Cocci
spherical
Sprili
helical
