What struggle did La Salle run into in 1685 and where did he end up
Finding the Mississippi River from the Gulf of Mexico was a difficult task. La Salle and his group of explorers had faulty maps. They did not have a reliable way to determine how far north or south they had traveled. Though they did not know it, La Salle and his party had actually sailed at least 100 miles too far and gone past the mouth of the Mississippi. This brought his expedition, or journey, to the coast of Texas in 1685.
